Tomorrow is Halloween and I can’t wait to get the kids dressed up and go trick or treating. Halloween is a holiday that I have always enjoyed. I went out trick or treating right up until I was 25. That’s right, till I was 25. The only difference is the kind of treats that people offer you. Instead of candy, I was often offered cigarettes, cigars, and alcohol. But it was still fun to dress up and have fun.
The one thing I don’t understand about this holiday, is all the controversy in the Christian circles. I have grown up in the church and have heard all the arguments about why Christians shouldn’t celebrate Halloween. But what I really don’t understand is why it’s not good to get dressed up and go door to door in the community. But it is okay for Christians to get dressed up and head to the church for a “Harvest Festival” or a “Reformation Service.” Whether you are out and about with your kids going door to door, or if you are at church participating in a Christian celebration, are you not still celebrating Halloween, just with a different name?
I am not sure why bad things happen to good people. Â But this is the case with a friend of mine. Â His name is Graham and his wife (Shannon) is fighting Lyme Disease. Â Graham and Shannon are great people. Â Graham has been in full time ministry with Youth for Christ for 17 years.
I am asking you to pray for Shannon and Graham as they fight this disease. Â You can read more about there struggle and keep up to date with Shannon’s battle at their blog:Â http://www.ticksandtrust.blogspot.com/
Thanks for supporting them and lifting them up in prayer.

Today’s the big day. Â I will fill you in on the details of the day later. Â Pray that it all works out alright.
Well on Thursday I underwent the procedure that all men fear with their life, I had a vasectomy. And to tell you the truth it wasn’t as bad as I had been told. Â So there is no need for the rest of you men to fear.
First up a sweet VW Van. I wish I still had my ’71.

Last night at 11:09pm after a long and trying labor, Simone gave birth to our fourth and final baby.  A beautiful little baby boy.  I know its our final because if I ever want to have sex again I have to have a vasectomy, and that is why it is booked for next week (more on that later).
Anyway back to Simone’s labor. Â Contractions started early Sun. morning and continued through the day. We went to the hospital only to be sent home. Â A few hours later we were on our way back to the hospital. And at 11:09 Levi Daniel Wittenberg was born 7lbs 10oz. Â Here are some pictures.Â

For millions of us Northern folk (Canadians) it is Thanksgiving Weekend, and oh what a weekend it will be. Â We will over indulge in turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce in all its varying consistencies.
It is a weekend that we remember all we are thankful for (friends, family, friendship, a roof over our heads and anything else we are thankful for) .  And when it is all said and done, we are thankful that it’s all over and hope that our pants still fit when it’s over.  It is also the weekend that ushers in the wind up to the busiest shopping season of the year, that’s right, Christmas.
This year I am thankful for my life (I almost dies) and my family.
Â
HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone.
I’m glad this turkey (Bush), pardoned this turkey.

That was so sweet!
Not sure if this will catch on!
There have been new pictures posted to wife’s photography site. Go check ‘em out!
